MPNA Board Meeting Minutes
June 6, 2006  
I. Call to Order & Introduction (Sheridan)
The meeting was called to order at 6.30

Anu LoVecchio was nominated and voted in as Board secretary.

Sheridian discussed revisions of the draft by-laws. Sheridian indicated that Section 2 of the draft, relating to immunity on civil liabilities if actions were taken in good faith, is not legally enforceable. Therefore, Sheridan suggested that the issue of providing insurance under this provision deserves more attention. Sheridan also stated that since there was no previous consent on the structure of board meetings, he drafted an option and distributed it for review. Revised by-laws were also distributed to attendees for review.

Eric Vondy and Katherine Leonard of the State Historic Preservation Office were present to discuss the tax credit available to certain homes in the district. The tax credit is available to those homes considered to be contributing properties and will be listed on the national register of historic homes. Contributing properties consisted of those homes that maintained the overall characteristics of the original design, and were on a list distributed to attendees for review. Katherine Leonard and Eric Vondy gave an overview of the history of Medlock Place’s designation as a historic district, and opened a forum for questions.

All applications for the tax credit from the contributing properties must be submitted to the County Assessor’s Office by June 30, 2006.

No meeting in July, due to the July 4th holiday. Meetings will resume in August.
